This was recommenced by a trainer as a quality leash to help with walking training. When used high on the neck and behind the head, it work to gently guide a stubborn dog
I use the 3/8 leads for all my dogs and puppies. They cannot slip away from me. I send every puppy home with a new lead as part of the puppy supples. They don’t ruin my Bichons or WaterDogs coats. I always have one in my vehicle in case of emergency. Been using them 15+ years
We have German Shepherds, and this is the leash we use to train all of our puppies when walking. It allows the puppy to feel when it is walking too fast and the pup automatically slows down. We are not in the position to have to be constantly pulling backward on the pup. We use these leashes with our adult dogs too. These Mendota leashes are strong, high quality and come in designs that match their collars, which makes for a really nice look on the dogs. I won't go anywhere besides Mendota for my dogs' leashes and collars.
We have been using Mendota slip leads with our dogs for over a year. Once I discovered them, I got rid of all my other leashes. Mendota leads are comfortable to hold, don’t chafe my hand or the dog’s neck, and are soft enough to stuff in a pocket without being bulky. 5 out of 5 stars.
Terrific quality slip leashes. I’ll definitely be purchasing more soon.
The slip leash is great-comfortable and perfect length.
I've been working with larger, more "difficult" dogs at a local animal shelter for three years, and tried many brands of 6 ft/half-inch slip leads in the first few months. Mendota's were by far the best. Unlike with other leashes, no dog has ever chewed through a Mendota slip lead, even though they feel softer than other types of leashes. They're comfortable and pliable when gripping around the fist, soft and comfortable for the dog, and they're far more durable and last much longer than the many other brands I've tried, or that are brought in by others. They also have a gentle "give" so that if a large dog suddenly pulls or jerks with considerable force, there's just enough flexibility to reduce the "jerk," thus reducing the force of injury. I've brought in at least 70 in 2020 (they're used by others at the shelter, and they disappear to be used elsewhere. At the moment, about 90 pct of the leashes there are Mendota. I also find Mendota's customer service extremely user-friendly. One example: They accidentally messed up an order earlier this year, and it was generously and immediately rectified/expedited. It's hard to use any other after becoming used to Mendota's.
The leashes are perfect! The salt and pepper color looks great with my Norwegian Elkhounds. I already got the 4’ for them last year as easier when I walk them by myself. The 6’ is wonderful when we each take a dog. Love!❤️
I did not receive the leash. It may have been stolen from my mailbox
