Mendota Traffic Leash - Large 1/2 inch

The Mendota traffic leash was recommended by a trainer so I ordered one. I use it in combination with a prong collar with amazing results....the dog is always close to me, lacks runway to rip my arm off when she sees one of her many squirrelfriends, and a simple upward motion on the leash puts the dog into a sit without a verbal command. The quality is great - thick cord, comfortable grip and robust metal hardware. The only issue I have is with that hardware: when my dog shakes (full body shake), the hardware releases from the ring on the collar. Thankfully, we also use a secondary strap, so the dog does not suddenly run free, but this is a bit of an annoyance. I suggest a heavier spring in the hardware.

Works great in keeping our service dog close.

Sturdy and comfortable. I especially love the color selection.

Comfortable around my wrist, attractive, nice details. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is the clip looks cheap (aluminum), unlike the brass clip that came on another leash I ordered from you. It's been functional for me so far, I just don't love the look of it or trust it as much as I would brass.

I bought this traffic lead for my beagle who likes to roam around the car while I’m driving - I attached the handle to a loop in my car and this keeps her safely in the back while also allowing her enough room to lay down and stretch out comfortably. It’s also great in a pinch if I happened to forget a leash while out and about. I love the quality and will definitely be purchasing from Mendota again!

Purchased the traffic leash to train my dog to stay right beside me when we walk. Took a little getting use to, really just one walk, but so glad we got it. I really think she loves being right next to me without the extra leash bumping her.

I have a 27lb doodle and this is the perfect leash length. Way easier to use than a long leash on walks. Easy for my kids to take the dog on a walk and my #1 leash we use.

This is really well made and sturdy. We can clip it on with a long training leash and it doesn't get in the way on our Labrador. Great for loading him in the vehicle when a long leash isn't needed. Very pleased.

I received the wrong color lead, but they immediately sent the one I ordered. Very good service.

Service was great . The leash and collar are better looking than on the web site. My pup is still growing and the braided collar will “grow” with her. Always pleased with Mendoza.

The traffic leash is easy to use and very pretty. I can use it for my dog when we play at the park.

Have been using Mendota choke collars and short leads for more than 25 years on our goldens. They are in and out of the water and don't get hot spots on the neck as the narrow collar lets the fir dry properly

I was hesitant in buying a non-leather traffic lead but this one works great. it is already broke in and easy to put in your pocket when finished. will definitely recommend.

We use this leash while walking in heel through high traffic areas and it works perfectly. I don't have to carry around some long leash that gets tangled up. We find this much easier. Definitely will buy more colors.

This short leash is awesome for working with your dog indoors or in close quarters. The leather ferrules allow you to choke up on the leash even closer. Great if you want to keep your pet close in busy or dangerous situations. Small enough to keep in your pocket "just in case" you need it. Then you can also drop the leash and let the dog wander and it does not get caught under the dogs feet or on any furniture. It stays out of the way.

This is our "must have" leash when Theo visits retirement homes & hospitals. As well as a great leash when in a crowded city

It is wonderful to be able to keep control of your dog with a short handle rather than have to worry about getting tangled up in or having to use two hands to manage the leash of your dog. I would recommend this leash to anyone that needs to keep their dog close.

I loved using this traffic lead, I've found that leashes that have built in traffic leads are a hassle because you don't need it most of the time and if you are outdoors a lot, it gets snagged on random objects very quickly, the ability to have a traffic lead when I want it is amazing the quality is impeccable, I always stick to Mendoza products for their quality and safety should I need to keep my dog near me no matter the circumstances

We love this leash for our two Rhodesian Ridgebacks. It's so sturdy and easy on our hands. We also have the longer version too! That's how much we like it!
