This was our second leash from Mendota. This one is strong and slightly longer than our first one. It also weighs less which is nice. The first one we had was thicker and had a slight stretch which helped some when my dog started to pull. I miss that stretch and the reflective bits on the old one.
These are pretty good leashes. But when I put the old leash next to the new leash the new leash is just less. It is thinner. The leather that holds it together is smaller. It is almost the same leash but less. Less good. Less sturdy. It’s almost as if it’s a different company. Maybe I ordered the wrong product or from a different company. This is a thin less sturdy leash.
I’ve purchased four Mendota leashes in the past six months, and all have been solid and very comfortable to use. When I inadvertently left the first leash (a six foot snap leash) where my little pit mix could get to it, he ate it, so they’re not indestructible. But I liked that leash so much that I quickly replaced it with another Mendota. Now I keep my leashes in a drawer. Lesson learned.
Mendota pet gave me a great price on some leashes that I’m donating to a veterans organization. Everything turned out perfect.
The only challenge was my sales rep Steve I think is he is new to the company and it took them a while to put my order in
He got everything right though, and the order was perfect
