These are pretty good leashes. But when I put the old leash next to the new leash the new leash is just less. It is thinner. The leather that holds it together is smaller. It is almost the same leash but less. Less good. Less sturdy. It’s almost as if it’s a different company. Maybe I ordered the wrong product or from a different company. This is a thin less sturdy leash.
I’ve purchased four Mendota leashes in the past six months, and all have been solid and very comfortable to use. When I inadvertently left the first leash (a six foot snap leash) where my little pit mix could get to it, he ate it, so they’re not indestructible. But I liked that leash so much that I quickly replaced it with another Mendota. Now I keep my leashes in a drawer. Lesson learned.
Mendota pet gave me a great price on some leashes that I’m donating to a veterans organization. Everything turned out perfect.
The only challenge was my sales rep Steve I think is he is new to the company and it took them a while to put my order in
He got everything right though, and the order was perfect
This is my second Mendota leash. I love the thick rope, leather trim, and sturdy clip. However, I will say that compared to the leash I bought 3 years ago, the rope is a little thinner, the clip a little less substantial, and the handle loop just slightly bigger (so it slides off my wrist too easily). Small complaints but a little annoying that I like the old one better.
