Leather Snap Leash - Chestnut (Rolled & Standard)

This is my second rolled leather leash purchase. Quality is outstanding and hardware is heavy duty. My English Setter looks cool too!

The first leash would have lasted a lifetime but my vet forgot to give it back to me after my dog had surgery and then somehow gave it “back” to the wrong client. So now I have a new one that will last a lifetime and I got a 2nd one for my other dog too.

four foot is just the right length, a little stiff but thats to be expected with new leather

I had been looking for nice leather leashes for awhile. I bought the one that’s a short handle and the four foot more traditional leash and love them both. My dog looks classic and most importantly it’s comfortable in my had for our long walks.

The loop lead keeps its shape making it easier to get over a dogs head. The snap leash has nice hardware but the metal loop on the handle is useless. Both styles are well made and look nice.
Both styles are listed as 3/4” diameter but are actually 7/16”, huge difference in advertised size vs. actual.

While I loved my old Mendota leashes, I found that they were a magnet for pet hair (especially with golden retrievers). So I have switched to the leather leashes and they are great!! A little stiff initially but they are getting softer with each use.

My husband opened this package and was hoping it was a belt, the leather was so pretty and the work was so fine.

Well made, heavy duty leash. It was really stiff but did soften up with an oiling and flexing. I didn’t like the brass ring so I cut it off. When I shorten up on the leash I weave it through my fingers like you do with horses reins and the full length stitching is rough and uncomfortable but maybe that will soften up with time. Overall really pleased with it.

Purchased the rolled 6 ft lead along with the narrow leather collar. What a fine way to show off my pretty girl. Super strong and durable products that show their quality even from afar. They both soften up with neats foot oil, and the lead rolls up nicely when I need to shorten it. Worth the extra dollars.

I originally received the wrong item, but they were quick to send out the correct one and fix their mistake. The leash is great as well, finally found something my puppy won’t chew through!

The leash is high quality and seems like it will last for a long time. It is heavier than a fabric leash so not great for puppies or small dogs (<15 lb)

Bought this leash five years ago, soon after adopting my dog. It's always felt great in my hand and is only improving with age. It gets softer, but stays strong. I'm pretty sure it will last as long as my dog will. I would buy another in a heartbeat, except that I don't need to yet. I have a friend with a new puppy and plan to gift him one.

The leash and hardware are substantial. I would not recommend for a dog less than about 30 pounds, the clip would probably be too heavy. For anyone with a larger dog this is definitely a plus.

Absolutely LOVE this leash! I have a Mendota 4ft rolled lead from about 8+ years ago that has held up beautifully so I decided to go with Mendota again - zero regrets! The hardware is sturdy and supports a 100lb shepherd safely, and the color is beautiful. Only gets better with age!

The leash is great but I paid extra for priority shipping and ended up getting the leash nearly two weeks later!

Great leash that is durable and gets softer with each cleaning. I like having the 4' & 6' options as well as the ring on the handle.
My only con is that the snap is a little big & heavy, but it is very durable.

The handle was tough on my hands so I tried treating it with some leather conditioner & a short water soak and the leash didn't stand up to the water very well but overall still a nice looking leash but a bit tough.

This leash is a classic! Was searching for a basic leather leash for engagement photos & for our dogs to wear in our wedding photos/ ceremony & this leash is perfect. Good looking, but not distracting! Highly functional too!
