Mendota Command Slip Collar

hi. hard to navigate the website so I bought an item that wasn't right (petite). Then finally got the item I wanted (command). The command collar is hard to use because the leather parts are so large they get hung up in the rings. The rings are also overly large. Can you make a rope slip that doesn't need leather?

Purchased a stout slip collar for a rambunctious 7 month old setter pup. Just what we all needed! Heel is no longer a problem....so long as we have enough reward treats!!! LOL Actually he responded well to the slip collar and heeling makes us all safer!

Purchased a slip lead collar and it was too big and he chewed it off. Great quality product, just a big puppy who got bored. Emailed to ask if they made a size in between and why. They emailed me back the next day and said they did not, but would send me the next size down, free of charge, in hopes that it might work. I wasn’t asking for that, because it wasn’t their fault the pup chewed it! I love when a USA based company makes a great product and has even better people working for them!

from the look they are fine, I prefer to prong collars. Need to see how they hold up with my Mastiff and Boxer.

I mistakenly ordered this collar too long for my dog's neck. He unfortunately was able to grab the end of it and chew through the collar within 1 week of receiving. Mendota Pet sent me a brand new collar updated to the right size within the very same week, and I could not be happier with the fit, color, and functionality! 10 out of 10!

I use a slip collar to train my dogs. They work great! Unfortunately, I left one on after we got home and in tussling together I ripped apart. These really should not be left on dogs all the time if they wrestle together.

These are beautifully made collars. At the ends there is leather, not pleather!

Love the rope chokes. I never put an actual collar on my dog. I don’t like how the collars wear on the dogs neck and hair. These are very nice and leave no marks or flattened hair on dogs neck. Will definitely buy again as needed.

I am always concerned walking my dog on a longer line that his collar or the buckle will break - I slip this over his head when we are going out and buckle the line to the slip and the ring on his regular collar - nothing to worry about any more

i like this collar and i love mendota products. my only complaint is that the o ring can get a little stuck on the leather and it makes it hard for the collar to tighten. overall i like it though

This collar is very inefficient. As much as I like the heavy leather reinforcements of the Mendota products, they are an impediment to this collar as the metal slip ring catches at the juncture of the two rings and the loose ring catches on leather piece preventing it from tightening.

I'm exchanging this one for a PRO TRAINER SLIP COLLAR.

This slip collar is the only one I have used for my last two dogs. It's light and yet sturdy. It comes it many colors. When I put her heart shaped id on it, I call it her necklace.

I love these collars. Chocolate lab wears red and yellow lab wears pink. They are beautifully made and lighter than wearing a regular collar with buckles. They also slip on and off easily to put them to bed at night
