This is my favorite "go to" leash for hiking in areas where my dog is required to be on leash. Soft on my hands, light for my dog. I have given this leash away to many friends as gifts!

One of the best long lines

This is the best long line. I've purchased several random brand long lines for my Lab puppy from Amazon, which were a fraction of the price, but they would rip/fray, tangle, fade, and smell, especially after use in muddy or wet conditions. One even gave me really bad rope burn. This Mendota long line is amazing because it does not tangle, is very soft and comfortable, sturdy, and very high quality. I also love the color options. I purchased the 1/2 inch and use it for recall training, at the beach, park, etc. It was my first Mendota purchase, and I was so impressed with the quality that I am now purchasing the slip lead and the EZ trainer.

Sturdy and Chew-proof!

A leash is a new, generally undesirable, concept for my 60-lb rescue, a Husky-German Shepherd Dog mix. As we begin learning leash protocol, this length will forestall the trapped feeling that panics a dog into desperately fighting the leash. Thunder is very strong; this leash is even stronger, so I needn't fear it breaking. And it's not particularly appealing as a chew toy--although obviously I'd never leave it within reach and potential entanglement. This length isn't for every dog or every owner, but it's a godsend for certain situations. Excellent value; great service.

Great quality, perfect for hikes and training recall!

Working with a trainer for my newly adopted dog. She highly recommended getting a long leash for decompression walks. This leash was exactly what I was looking for. It’s very nice quality, while also being light weight. It was hard to pick from all the different color options! The snap/clip is a little on the small side for a harness loop, but it has worked out just fine so far. Ideally that part would be a little larger/more durable.

Well made, but hurts my hand when the dog pulls

This is a beautiful leash that's well made. It has solid hardware and is sturdy. My dog is reactive so I bought this leash for her to have some more freedom to sniff around and decompress, but if she pulls at all and I have the leash wrapped around my hand, the round rope crushes my hand more than flat webbing would. If she didn't pull at all this wouldn't be an issue. I might tie some more knots in the rope to hold onto instead. Overall I like it, but I'll be using it more once we make more training progress and she doesn't pull.
